Let's face it hair is a problem - we either have too much of it or not enough, and never in the places we actually want it!
We have a number of solutions for you here at At In Sensu Ltd:
Waxing & Intimate Waxing:
(available with Megan Cressey) Megan is a highly qualified and experienced advanced waxer. She loves waxing and is very happy to help you with that unwanted hair wherever it may appear.
Waxing hair removal is a semi-permanent method of hair removal that involves applying warm or cold wax to the skin and then pulling it off to remove hair from the root.
How It Works:
A layer of wax is applied to the skin in the direction of hair growth.
A cloth strip (for soft wax) or the wax itself (for hard wax) is quickly pulled off in the opposite direction, removing hair from the root.
This process leaves the skin smooth for several weeks.
Types of Waxing:
Soft Wax (Strip Wax): Applied thinly and removed with a cloth strip. Best for large areas like legs and arms.
Hard Wax: Applied thickly and removed without strips. Ideal for sensitive areas like the face, underarms, and bikini line.
Sugar Waxing: A natural alternative using sugar, lemon, and water.
Benefits of Waxing:
✔ Longer-lasting results (3-6 weeks) compared to shaving
✔ Smoother skin with no stubble
✔ Thinner and finer regrowth over time
✔ Less irritation and fewer ingrown hairs than shaving
Drawbacks:
❌ Can be fairly Uncomfortable (especially for first-timers)
❌ Can cause redness or irritation
❌ Hair must be at least ¼ inch long for effective removal
❌ Not permanent (hair eventually grows back in 3-6 weeks)
Waxing is great for larger body areas or can be carried out on smaller facial areas too.
As our clinic waxing specialist, Megan carries out all her hair removal treatments with sensitivity, whilst maintaining your dignity throughout.
Electrolysis Hair Removal:

Claire Stokes is our resisdent Electrolysis expert with over 30 years experience in doing this specialised treatment. Electrolysis hair removal is a method of permanent hair removal that uses an electric current to destroy the hair follicle. It involves inserting a fine probe into the hair follicle and applying electrical energy to prevent future hair growth.
How It Works:
A thin, sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle.
An electric current (either galvanic, thermolysis, or blend method) is delivered to destroy the follicle.
The treated hair is then removed with tweezers.
Over multiple sessions, this process leads to permanent hair reduction.
Benefits of Electrolysis:
✔ Permanent results (FDA-approved for permanent hair removal)
✔ Works on all hair colors and skin types (unlike laser hair removal, which is less effective on light hair)
✔ No long-term side effects when performed by a professional
✔ Can be used on any body part, including the face, eyebrows, and bikini line
Drawbacks:
❌ Requires multiple sessions for complete hair removal
❌ Can be time-consuming since each follicle is treated individually
❌ Some discomfort or redness after treatment
Electrolysis is particularly popular for facial hair, especially if it lacks sufficient colour for laser to be able to successfully treat it.
Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses concentrated light energy (laser) to target and destroy hair follicles, reducing or preventing hair growth over time.
How It Works:
The laser emits a light that is absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair.
The heat from the laser damages the hair follicle, inhibiting future hair growth.
Multiple sessions are needed because hair grows in different cycles, and the laser is most effective on actively growing hairs (anagen phase).
Benefits of Laser Hair Removal:
✔ Long-lasting hair reduction (not always permanent but significantly slows growth)
✔ Fast treatment (covers larger areas compared to electrolysis)
✔ Less painful than waxing or electrolysis (often described as a snapping sensation)
✔ Reduces ingrown hairs and irritation from shaving
Drawbacks:
❌ Requires multiple sessions for best results (usually 6-8 treatments)
❌ Works best on dark hair and light skin (though advanced lasers now work on more skin tones)
❌ Not always permanent (some hair may regrow, but finer and lighter)
❌ Potential side effects like temporary redness, irritation, or pigmentation changes
Comparison of Laser Hair Removal, Waxing, and Electrolysis
Feature | Laser Hair Removal | Waxing | Electrolysis |
Effectiveness | Reduces hair growth significantly, but may not be 100% permanent | Removes hair from the root, but it grows back in a few weeks | Permanent hair removal |
Best For | People with dark hair & light skin(some lasers work on darker skin tones) | All hair types & skin tones | All hair & skin types |
Treatment Areas | Face, legs, arms, underarms, bikini, back, chest | Almost any body part | Any small area (face, underarms, bikini, etc.) |
Pain Level | Mild to moderate (feels like a rubber band snap) | Moderate (quick but stings) | Higher pain level (each follicle treated individually) |
Time Required | Fast (covers large areas in minutes) | Quick (depends on area, but a few minutes per section) | Slow (each hair treated individually) |
Sessions Needed | 6-8 sessions for best results | Every 3-6 weeks | Multiple sessions (can take up to a year for full results) |
Cost | Expensive upfront but long-term savings | Affordable per session, but adds up over time | Expensive due to the number of sessions required |
Side Effects | Temporary redness, irritation, possible pigmentation changes | Redness, irritation, risk of ingrown hairs | Redness, swelling, slight scabbing possible |
Longevity | Long-term hair reduction (some regrowth possible) | Temporary (hair regrows in a few weeks) | Permanent (FDA-approved for permanent removal) |
Which One Should You Choose?
Best for Permanent Hair Removal: Electrolysis
Best for Large Areas & Long-Term Reduction: Laser Hair Removal
