This medication is used in a variety of conditions such as allergic disorders, arthritis, gout, blood diseases, breathing problems, certain cancers, eye diseases, intestinal disorders, collagen and skin diseases. Triamcinolone is known as a corticosteroid hormone (glucocorticoid). It works by decreasing your body's immune response to these diseases and reduces symptoms such as swelling. At our clinic it is primarily used to successfully control and treat hay fever.

If you, like almost 50% of the UK, suffer from hay fever, you’ll likely know the pain of spending the summer months with itchy or watery eyes, a cough or runny rose. If you're a severe hay fever sufferer, then you'll also likely know it can go beyond annoying and actually, really start to affect the quality of your life. Some people are able to use antihistamines or nasal sprays for relief, while others have such bad symptoms that nothing seems to help (we see you!) – prompting them to look at alternative treatments, like the hay fever injection.

Kenalog is a common hay fever injection that manages severe hay fever symptoms. Kenalog contains a steroid called triamcinolone acetonide and is injected into a large muscle in the body, it then slowly distributes from the muscle for three to eight weeks, and travels through the body, offering relief from hay fever symptoms."

 

No longer available on the NHS, sufferers can still access the hay fever injection through private clinics, such as ours for a small cost of £40.
